Custom, Semi-Custom Or Stock?

Wholesale Kitchens offers Custom, Semi-Custom, and Stock Cabinetry for any room in your home or office and our 2020 Design software lets you visualize the finished product, so you know exactly what you can expect, and you get exactly what you want.

We know that remodeling projects can be stressful, understanding the pros and cons of each alternative can go a long way towards relieving that stress.

Stock Cabinets

Stock cabinets are mass produced and ready to ship when ordered, but this does not necessarily mean they are low quality, it just means that you have a limited selection of door styles, finishes, and colors.

Stock Cabinets come in standard widths (from 9" to 48" in 3” increments) and depths (12" for wall cabinets and 24" for oven, base, and utility cabinets).

Pros – Stock Cabinets are the most affordable and they offer the fastest lead times.

Cons – No customization possible.

Semi-Custom Cabinets

Semi-Custom Cabinets give you limited customization possibilities, but many find this little bit of extra flexibility to be all they needed in the first place. Like with Stock Cabinets, Semi-Custom Cabinets are available in different qualities.

Standard widths (from 9" to 48") still apply, but you can adjust in 1” increments rather than 3”. The depths can be adjusted per the manufacturer’s guidelines and you can resize cabinet drawers and doors.

Semi-Custom Cabinets are available in a wide range of stains, paints and glazes including specialty finishing techniques like distressing. You can also add roll-out shelves, door racks, and organizing inserts as well as embellishments like crown molding and cabinet legs.

Pros – You have more design choices without the cost or lead time of custom cabinets.

Cons – The cost and lead times are greater than those of stock cabinets.

Custom Cabinets

With nearly endless design possibilities, if you can dream it, we can build it.

Custom Cabinets are completely bespoke, so you can choose your wood, finish, hardware, and embellishments, and you’re not limited by standard widths and depths.

Pros - Endless design possibilities.

Cons – Higher cost and longer lead times.
